¿Vale la pena hacerse un tratamiento en un dentista?

Is it worth having treatment at a dentist?

Depends.

It depends on the situation of your oral health and the circumstances of each person. Roughly speaking , we could divide it into three groups.

  • People who have false teeth, veneers or similar : if you are part of this group, yes or yes you will have to go to a specialized center. Because? Because fake pieces do not change color with whitening treatments or peroxide, since most are ceramic-based and do not rust. A specialized center will look for the right tone and do selective whitening so that you have a homogeneous result.
  • People with tooth discoloration caused by calcifications or chemical elements : You have ever seen people who have one tooth that is much yellower than the rest (like the one shown in the image above). This possibly happens due to calcification . This occurs when the tooth receives a strong blow, but the calcification does not appear immediately; it may take years for it to appear . The best option for these cases is to go to a specialized dental center to check the root canal and do an exclusive treatment for the affected tooth in question. The same thing happens when there are discolorations caused by chlorhexidine , an oral disinfectant with antiseptic action but that stains the teeth, or tetracycline, an antibiotic. In some cases, not even whitening in dental centers will be useful and the option of veneers will remain.
  • People with healthy teeth and a homogeneous color: That is, healthy teeth but that have taken on a yellowish color due to food, drinks or tobacco. In these cases, we can use self-application whitening treatments. These treatments are very easy to use, cheaper and also effective. It is important to use a good product and make sure that it is manufactured, at least in Europe , since on the Internet you can find whitening products manufactured in China that do not meet European quality standards and/or use substances prohibited in Europe such as products based on hydrogen peroxide with concentrations greater than 0.1%. In fact, dentists in these cases will offer you a treatment with strips or splints with peroxide so that you can apply it at home, the big difference is in the price, about €300-€500.

If you are in the latter group, we recommend the DR.INUK strips , a product manufactured in Spain, with efficacy studies (6 shades in 4 weeks) and also suitable for sensitive teeth and the total cost of the treatment (two boxes) costs less than €60
