First of all we want to explain why toothpaste is sold in tubes and not in other types of packaging.
And the viscosity of toothpaste is quite special, denser than a serum and even more than a cream, which already prevents manufacturers from using depending on which container it could be used, for example in cosmetics.
Tubes are also used for usability, it is a format that allows you to squeeze out, almost, the last “drop” although later we will explain that this is not really the case.
The other is because it is very economical, and obviously it is an important issue when we talk about millions of tubes that are sold daily.
The bad thing is that most tubes are not recyclable, although they are labeled as if they are (very strongly).
Toothpaste tubes are made of multilayers. Made of plastic, paper (sometimes) and metal, this makes its processing in plants practically impossible on a technical or economic level and it ends up being discarded in landfills or incinerators.
According to estimates, a tube of toothpaste takes approximately 500 years to degrade, this is because the standard model is made with 11 layers of plastics, polymers and resins, so it is not possible to recycle it. And if we consider here that millions of these tubes are thrown away every year, then we are facing a serious environmental problem.
Another factor that works against it is the fact that there is always some product left inside and this, apart from being waste, also worsens the recycling process and a problem if it ends up in the landfill.
But there is light at the end of the tunnel, a large company in the sector has begun to market tubes that are actually recyclable (although the problem of waste persists).
For a few months now at Dr. INUK we have been working on a new product that you are going to like and that solves the recycling problem with a unique, 100% recyclable and 100% reusable packaging and also 0 product waste . We don't want to give more details , but we're already anticipating that it's going to be a very top launch!
We really want you to know what we have in hand and we are sure that it will be a success for your dental health and also the health of the planet.
